UPDATED!! Install Win 10 32 bit version for PowerPOS on your Windows 10 PC.

OK, now that the Microsoft FREE update to version 10 is over. its back to Reality.

Now-a-days a new PC will come with Windows 10 64 bit version PRE-INSTALLED.  However, Microsoft is NOT leaving its 32 bit clients in the lurch….  In fact they have included BOTH the Windows 10 64 Bit AND 32 bit versions in the SAME License.  That means to convert your machine to 32 bit version, which is 100% compatible with POWER POS, all you need to do is reload the Windows 10 32 bit version on to your PC…(You already OWN it!!).

WINDOWS 10 and PowerPOS

Great news!!!

Microsoft has recently announced the release and FREE upgrade from win 7 and 8 (8.1), either 64 bit or 32 bit, to windows 10 64 bit or 32 bit.
Better still is the knowledge that windows 10 will have an EXTENDED lifetime, which means no more new versions, just upgrades in the future.
Well, that’s also GREAT NEWS for PowerPOS Users. Because it means that NO MATTER if you have Windows 7 or 8 (8.1) AND no matter if it is 32 bit or 64 bit versions you will be able to load a Windows 10 32bit version on your existing PC’s and be able to run PowerPOS into the unforseen future. Once the release of Windows 10 begins on July 29, 2015, you will be able to download the windows 10 32 bit version, and install it with your EXISTING windows 7 or 8 (8.1) license Key.

How do I get rid of the Microsoft “Security Warning” screen?

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Settings from Tools, Internet Options.
  3. Click on the Security tab.
  4. Select Local Intranet and click Sites.
  5. Clear the checkbox for Automatically detect intranet and check the other 3 boxes.
  6. Click the Advanced button on that same dialog box
  7. Clear the checkbox to “Require server verification (https) for all sites in this zone.
  8. And add “file://ServerName” to the list of trusted sites.
  9. Click OK
  10. Click Apply
  11. Click Ok
  12. Close Internet Explorer

The security warning will NO longer bother you!
